Indie folk/rock band Hadnot Creek originate from Charlottesville, Virginia and their music is steeped in the Southern region, full of grit and hardship, but also determination and at times glory.
Hadnot Creek dropped their second album, the appropriately titled Hard World, early this December. It follows up debut full length Winter, which arrived in 2018.
Hard World continues in the vein of Winter, with hardscrabble, plaintive, and sincere rockers and reflections, all rooted in traditional Americana music.
Singer-songwriter Robert Sawrey kick started the outfit in 2016 and is joined by multi-instrumentalist Zach Samel, guitarists Damir Kajan and Carter Litvinas, and vocalist Lucy Haden Smith.
The band members encapsulate the angst, confusion, and contemplation of 2020 with their earnest and roughhewn tunes, spinning storytellers and exuding strong emotions that fit the darker times we’re all going through.
Keep up with Hadnot Creek
