Singer-Songwriter Patrick Ames Targets Topical Issue About Spreading False Rumors On Direct New Tune

California-located singer-songwriter Patrick Ames tells it like it is on his direct and potent songs, tackling topical social and political subjects with sharp perception.

Ames’ latest single, Second Wave, is no exception. Like the title suggests, the musician targets the current COVID-19-driven pandemic – and the harmful rumors that are circulating like a virus.

Ames is backed by stark bluesy rock guitar lines as he matter-of-factly sing-talks about the infectious spread of rumors that are harming the efforts of trying to curb the pandemic.

So many detrimental untruths – yes, lies – are contaminating the air and minds of the public who either don’t know what to believe, or are being willfully ignorant about the facts and truth of our current predicament.

Ames takes aim at it all, from the anti-maskers (who are most likely also anti-vaxxers) to virus-deniers, who think everything is fine, even as the COVID-19 kills millions around the world…

That some humans can be so obtuse and/or uncaring about their family, friends, neighbors, and even themselves (Wonder what they’ll believe once they catch the virus…), to go mask-less and not social distance, boggles the mind.

This is not about taking away individual rights/freedom or a political stance; it’s about stopping a relentless killing machine that will continue to exterminate us unless public safety and scientific  measures are put into place – rules that we should follow – that will slow down, and hopefully finally stop, the virus rampage.

It’s about eradicating the virus now, so we don’t have to wear masks and social distance at all in the future.

Lyrics for “Second Wave”

1.
There’s a rumor out there
That the virus don’t kill
There’s a rumor out there
That Masks make you ill
There’s a rumor out there
Fake flus disappear
All these rumors out there
By Angry people don’t care

Lies and rumors
Spread the virus
Lies and rumors
Second Wave

2.
There’s a virus out there
So many empty chairs
There’s a virus out there
Hear it move in the cocktail air
There’s a virus out there
Streets are empty and home now a jail
There’s a virus out there
There’s a touch of madness everywhere

It’s the Lies and rumors
That Spread the virus
It’s the lies and rumors
Second Wave

3.
Angry people out there
Rumors all they share
Angry people out there
Mad the virus interferred
So much anger out there
Lives don’t matter nobody cares
So much anger out there
The virus will never disappear

Lies and rumors
Spread the virus
Lies and rumors
Second Wave

There’s a rumor out there.
About the virus out there.
