New Jersey-based Robert Cotnoir is the musical mind behind electronic/rock project Grapefruit Sound Lab.
Cotnoir’s latest remix is for NYC-located punk rocker Gina Volpe’s (of the famed Lunachicks) synth-pop single Shine. The track originally comes from Volpe’s album Different Animal.
Cotnoir adds his own bright twist to it, pumping it up with pulsating beats and fizzy electronics, yet keeping Volpe’s engaging vocals prominent in the mix.
Officially titled Shine (Red House Mix), the remix was produced by Barb Morrison and recently dropped.
Grapefruit Sound Lab has previously garnered praise for the single Don’t Fall For It, which reached #14, and spent 10 weeks on, Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart and made its way into Billboard’s Electronica chart. Another track, Love Cards, was featured in the TV series Instinct.
Grapefruit Sound Lab’s album Eight Days Across America is out now.
