SoCal-located roots Americana band Ikes Creek released their debut album Up, Rising this past June and it flows with the mellow ease of musicians at the top of their abilities.
Ikes Creek was formed in 2017 and is led by multi-instrumentalist (fiddle, guitar, dobro) and songwriter Korey Simeone. In 2018 the band won Best Band at the 58th Annual Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest and Music Festival held in Topanga, California.
Storytelling songs come to life with resonant vocals and engaging instrumentation on Up, Rising, which was produced by Doug Grean and Korey Simeone. Playing with authentic roots rock style, Ikes Creek champions traditional bluegrass, folk, and Americana, all while adding their own modern take to the music.
Simeone perceptively states, “My roots Americana music reflects the deep-seated love of my Northern Idaho roots, mirrored in my gratitude for my friends and family who have shaped me into the man I am. Through my mother, father, and especially my wife, I have come to appreciate that the people who love you are vastly more important than the people you love. The former stick with you; the latter do not always do the same. Knowing such true people inspired the music on this release.”
