San Francisco-based electronic act NVO mixes live instruments into its kinetic electronic music foundation on new EP The Signal. The EP showcases what NVO is all about, from the old-school, dynamic electronics to the modern, melodic vocals and detailed compositions. It’s a fresh take that meshes the electronic pop, vintage funk, and nu-disco genres to get-on-the-dancefloor effect.
The Signal arrived March 2nd via Mallabel Music and it’s filled with electronic rave-ups and funk-rockers. Two singles have been released from the EP; the deeply thumping house beats and electronic chops of Limitless that spins with disco dazzle, and the sharply sparkling electronica of club-banger Shift Me which features vocalist Eko Zu. NVO also collaborates with the artist Lateef the Truthspeaker on the EP.
The four-piece has been producing music since 2010, using traditional instruments like guitar, bass, and drums to kick up its electronics-based music up several notches. NVO dropped its previous record, Night Vision Odyssey, in 2015 and it rapidly climbed up the Beatport charts. NVO has supported acts like MSTRKRFT, Lotus, Goldfish, and Particle and the band’s music has been placed in Hulu’s Resident Advisors and featured at the San Francisco Giant’s stadium.
