NEWS: HIP-POP/RAP ARTISTS V and JT SOUL ROLL A NEW SONICALLY LAID-BACK BUT LYRICALLY BLUNT TRACK

Fresh Canadian hip-pop/rap artist JT Soul is on a roll with the release of several recent singles via ODDIO Entertainment and he has now paired with his labelmate V, a fellow Canadian hip-hop/R&B rapper, for the sonically laid-back, but lyrically blunt Everything Times Two.  The track was produced by Soul’s beat-maker Jei Bandit and Taylor King.

Everything Times Two is Soul and V’s first official collab for ODDIO Ent. and they light it up with Soul’s twisting, hazy vocal chop and V’s shadowy lines and smoky rhymes.  The slowly flowing, stop ‘n’ go backdrop is filled with simmering rhythms and popping, lighter notes.  V is spotlighted late in the track with a potent rap that slides easily amid Soul’s sweeter, more longing tone.

JT Soul is the moniker of the teenage, Montreal-based Gianni Rivera.  Rivera was deep into music in high school where he started up the rap group Unofficial Sovereign.  He’s since graduated from high school and has gone solo, signing to ODDIO Ent. and currently preparing to release his debut EP.
