The Record Stache

The Sweet Five #3

Every Wednesday we will be featuring a Sweet Five! What’s a Sweet Five you may ask? Well I’ll drop you five sweet songs that you should listen to once a week, that will help you get over your hump-day and set sail towards the ever-nearing weekend! Ready? Okay!

Grieves – Light Speed

One of my favourite rappers currently. Grieves is a poet with down to earth stories told over a great beat with catchy flow. “It’s like I’m moving at lightspeed. Slow down” describes just how to live your life. Kick back. “You don’t need to go so fast”

The Maine – Whoever She Is

I don’t know when or where I first heard this song, but I’m sure when I did it was love. Make this track about your special lady, she’ll appreciate it. This is a soft, catchy song that will have you searching up more from these guys.

The Neighbourhood – Sweater Weather

Featured already on The Record Stache (here), The Neighbourhood are definitely contenders for artist of the year in my books. This track gets me whistling the tune and humming the chorus all day. Make this song effect you, allow it to lure you in to a day dream.

Company Of Thieves – Even In The Dark

The name of this album is “Ordinary Riches,” but nothing is ordinary from these guys. A voice of an angel, soft backing vocals that are lovlier than a boquet of flowers. This track captures power, talent and magic all in one.

Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton – Nothing And Nowhere

This track goes back to 2006. You might know Emily Haines as the lead singer of Metric. If not, well now you do. A gentle, piano led beginning is soon greated by Haines unusual, but strong voice. This track is full of deep lyrics, but is presented perfectly.
