NEWS: YOUNG POP ARTIST DEVIN KENNEDY SHINES ON A BRIGHT, LYRICALLY REFLECTIVE NEW TUNE

Written by: Jen Dan

Pop artist Devin Kennedy just dropped his latest single, Happy Yet, and it shines with his longing and airy vocals and bright instrumentation. It follows up Kennedy’s acclaimed You & Me, That’s Enough EP.

Kennedy is on the musical fast track since 2018. He’s won the Best New Emerging Artist from Hollywood Music in Media, has racked up over 1.6 million digital plays, and has been featured on Apple and BMI playlists.

Happy Yet delves into social media culture and how it affects the individual. While the track may be upbeat and light, the lyrics are more serious and reflective.

On the tune Kennedy calls out, and rejects, a system that pushes self-worth through obtaining objects and spending money. He croons ruefully, “I look at all these things, and I’m not happy yet / where do I buy happiness?…”
