NEWS: FRENCH ELECTRONIC DUO THE GEEK X VRV TAKE IT TO THE DISCO DANCEFLOOR ON A FUN & FUNKY TRACK

Written by: Jen Dan

With their highly anticipated and stylistically hybrid debut album Time Machine arriving soon, French electronic music duo The Geek x Vrv unveil another solid gold single with Roller Disco 1980 which features vocals from French rapper Hi Levelz.

Roller Disco 1980 is meant to start the party on the dancefloor, obvs, and it does so in cool, funky style. It’s one in a long line of critically heralded (Complex, This Song Is Sick, Dancing Astronaut, more) singles that The Geek x Vrv have been rolling out this past year with collaborators who include Gramatik, Balkan Bump, M.I.L.K., Anomalie, Fakear, and Møme.

The Geek x Vrv reveal some details about the track, stating that it, “started from super-funky beats we made and [we] decided to send over to Hi Levelz, with the vision of a disco, groovy track that shoots you off to the disco era.”

So strap on those skates and get down to the staccato rhythms, crisp percussion, shiny guitar riffs, glowing keyboard notes, and enjoyable vocals from Hi Levelz that slide through Roller Disco 1980.

Keep up with The Geek x Vrv
