Toronto-located hip-pop hybrid musician Erich Mrak delivers chill to emotive vibe-based tracks that recall the likes of Post Malone and Travis Scott in the vocals department.
Produced by fellow Torontonian Bento, Mrak has released a string of singles, and has been hyped by Indie Shuffle, Paste Magazine, YourEDM, and more.
Mrak’s latest visualizer is for See You In September, which materialized late last year. The vid clip is composed of two recent numbers, Navigate and Riptide. It was directed by Maxym Perron, co-directed by Kenya Walters, and features the actor Will Verrault Milner.
The concept and screenplay for the video is all Mrak. The mellow track is lightly peppered with crisp and echoed percussion and floats by on Mrak’s subdued, extended vocals.
The first part of the visualizer features natural environments with swaying fronds of tropical trees, as well as sharp cityscapes populated by glass and concrete buildings. Milner navigates each milieu with a searching intensity. What is he looking for?…
The second part is a quick-edited bunch of clips that spotlight a frustrated Milner in his apartment as he thinks back on being harassed at his restaurant job and him quitting the place.
Keep up with Erich Mrak HERE
