Hailing from Javea, Spain, rock band Happy Freuds offer up a blend of ‘70s- and ‘90s-touched rock ‘n’ roll and acoustic rock on their latest album Echo of Sounds, which came out this year.
Happy Freuds self-produced Echo of Sounds and deliberately kept the live vibe going by using a minimum of overdubs. They say that renowned acts like Black Sabbath, Rush, and Mumford & Sons inspired them.
The band rock out with determined fervor on tracks like Push, The Mountain, and Song X, and rein it in with a more contemplative view on the introspective Low Are The Punches. They swing out with yearning on To Blue and shake it up on the stirring lead single Chauncey.
Happy Freuds is a multi-national unit comprised of Swedish brothers Teo and Victor Holmstrom, Englishman Jack Hunter, and Spaniard Sergio Canadas. They’ve played a slew of shows this past year, building up their rep as a dynamic live outfit.
