Song/Video Review: Neo-Soul/Pop Artist Bridesmen Releases a Charming & Heartfelt Video About Love

If you’re in the mood for something sweet and heartfelt during the dreary days of winter, look no further than the charming and disarming video for the track Someone Who Loves Me by Los Angeles-based neo-soul/R&B singer-songwriter Kenton Chen.

Chen records under the moniker Bridesmen, a name that conjures up expectation and joy. Chen’s reality, however, is that he grew up feeling isolated, where he couldn’t express who he truly was due to being a gay Asian 2nd-geneneration immigrant.

But through Chen’s music as Bridesmen he feels free to show the world who he is and what he believes in – and it’s a beautiful thing. The smooth and sympathetic Someone Who Loves Me showcases a confessional Chen who’s “…been through the fire…”, and who reveals the universal feeling, “At the end of the day / I just want someone who loves me.”

The engagingly poignant video features friends of the artist, people of various races and sexualities and from different parts of the U.S. What they share at the heart of it is the deep need for connection, belonging, and love.
