Dallas, Texas-based musician Trevor Douglas has been making a name for himself nationally with his run on American Idol where he got into the finals, his opening slot for a Jonas Brothers concert, and performances at big events like the Dallas International Film Festival and Texas State Fair.
Douglas’ captivating style of pop is in the mold of huge singer-songwriter artists like Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes. His lyrics and vocals are introspective and his music is catchy and engaging.
The Texas native’s debut EP, Four In The Morning, was released last month to glowing reviews and fan raves. Mixing his signature subtle pop with soulful urban pop influences, Douglas creates a modern pop record for the public. The DIY musician recorded the EP at his home with only a laptop and microphone.
The result is an intimate, straight-from-the-heart-and-mind snapshot of Douglas’ sonic and lyrical outlook. Reflective acoustic tracks mingle with ‘80s-era synth-pop numbers. Upbeat and downtempo vibes alternate and even blend together, depending on the track. Lyrics about love found and lost – and found again – create a cohesive thematic feel to Four In The Morning. This is one EP to stay up into the late hours to listen to!
