SONG REVIEW: NJ’s YOUNG RISING SONS RELEASE A VIBRANT & DRIVING INDIE ROCK/POP SINGLE

New Jersey-located indie pop-rock band Young Rising Sons have been on an ascendant trajectory since their inception a few years ago. Their latest catchy single Scatterbrain belies its distracted name. It’s a cohesive, uplifting, and heartfelt track that showcases the band’s vibrant and driving sound and anthemic vocals.

Merging poppy, brightly scintillating synths and grittier, explosive rock sonics, Scatterbrain is one for the stadium, propelled forward by a running bass line, speedy drum beats, and effusive vocals. The song’s lyrics focus on balancing your outer life with your inner self and paring away any excess baggage.

In 2014 the band signed to Dirty Canvas Music and released the acclaimed single High. Soon after they signed to Interscope Records and dropped their self-titled debut EP. They’ve also had their music placed in high-profile ads, as well as in the film A Dog’s Purpose and the video game Guitar Hero.

The band is a dynamic force in the NJ and NYC music scene, and they have also performed in other states, Canada, and the U.K. With over 20 million streams on Spotify alone, Young Rising Sons are ones to watch.
