SONG REVIEW: ELECTRONIC MUSIC ARTIST MALVAE UNVEILS A STUNNING & RELEVANT SECOND SINGLE

Netherlands-born, New Zealand-raised producer and composer Malvae gives an original spin to the electronic music genre by recording sounds that emanate from his mouth to create melodies and percussive samples.

Malvae’s experimental nature has led him to push the electronic boundaries and trek into beautiful new territory. His recently released single, the stunning and relevant Running Away, is proof of his exploratory style.

Sounding like a musical instrument, Malvae sings the brief and repeated lyrics on this track, pitching his vocals high and hauntingly wistful against a burgeoning atmosphere of elongated and twisting sonic elements.

The theme of rampant pollution and other disregard for the health of our planet is evident by the single’s artwork (designed by Johannes Walenta), detailing a lush and vibrant natural environment trapped in a discarded plastic bag that floats in the ocean.

The lyrics about running away and Malvae’s anxious vocal tone tie into the idea of running away and escaping from a society that doesn’t care about what (and who) is destroying our world.

Running Away is out now on CloudKid Records.
