Los Angeles-based folk/alt-rock band Wildeor has recently released its debut single, The Devil Makes Three, which comes off their self-titled EP.
Singer-songwriter Megan Brickwood, percussionist Caleb Conner, and cellist Mark Bassett met each other in LA and were drawn together by mutual musical interests, from folk and rock to Medieval storytelling.
The band marries atmospheric sounds that were inspired by Brickwood’s upbringing in the Pacific Northwest and universal themes that explore the human experience. The Devil Makes Three is a prime example of this blending of styles, with its alt-folk sound wrapped up in a vintage mysticism.
On the acoustic, slightly foreboding The Devil Makes Three, Brickwood’s bittersweet vocals are supported by restless percussion, steely stringed instruments, a heavy drum thump, lower cello lines, occasional bright piano notes, and deeper male vocal accompaniment.
