Electronic pop artist Lauv has dropped his second single, Chasing Fire, a follow-up to the platinum hit I Like Me Better. The indie singer-songwriter and producer is making his name known in pop and electronic circles for his catchy and upbeat tunes.
I Like Me Better has passed 500 million streams and attained platinum status in 7 countries, and hit #17 on the US’s Top 40 radio chart. Lauv is riding high on the success of that single, recently performing on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live and MTV’s TRL.
Lauv is currently on a sold-out world tour named I met you when I was 18. He’ll be performing at several music festivals this summer including Lollapalooza and Firefly Music Festival.
Chasing Fire is part of a collection of songs that document’s Lauv’s life as a student a New York University and follows themes of young love and self-actualization. He explains that even though Chasing Fire burns with a bright sound, it’s actually, “…about fighting for something that’s already over. It’s the beginning of the end. It’s desperation. It’s grand. But it’s hopeless.”
