SONG REVIEW: ELECTRONIC POP ACT KARMIC UNLEASHES UPBEAT & RELEVANT FEMALE-EMPOWERMENT SINGLE

Electronic pop band Karmic unleashes its new single, Warriors, an upbeat and positive female-power anthem that is sorely needed in this gender-imbalanced world.

Karmic consists of vocalists Laura Baruch and Kylee Katch and features producers Samuel Murphy and Peter Kastner of Bad Owl Records.  The act is known for its energetic live performances that has them traveling throughout the US and Europe.  Recent shows include a run in Germany and gigs at SoFar Sounds LA and Resident DTLA.

The band blends catchy pop melodies with harder hitting electronic/dance beats and tops the mix off with calls for positive change and empowerment.  Warriors fits the bill perfectly as an inspiring, female-forward track that kicks back at gender oppression with bold lyrics and a vibrant sound.

The emphatic and quick marching beat is accented by brief horn bellows and shouts, and a litany of layered accompanying vocals that support lyrics like, “fighting in this battle for too long / time to take what we deserve now” and “the ceiling’s already shattered /…we won’t stop now.” The message of equal rights (including equal pay in the workplace) is a strong and relevant one – and the time for these changes has come (and is long overdue).
