Los Angeles-based indie pop/electronic duo Slenderbodies drops a new tune, Lucid, via STEM that captures the restless surf impacting the laid-back sandy beaches of California. Lucid follows up the act’s HypeM-hot remix of Zhu’s Hometown Girl.
The pair of Max and Ben creates smooth, engaging compositions that take in their sunny and carefree location. Gently airy vocals, limpid guitar lines, and interesting rhythms run through Slenderbodies’ songs and Lucid is no different. It swims in a soft atmosphere of hushed vocals, impressionistic lyrics (“…I’m OK from the haze / Dripping in reflection”), and captivating rhythmic patterns.
Slenderbodies released their fabulist EP earlier this year and it garnered over 5 million streams. They recently played Red Bull’s 30 Days in Chicago and will unveil a new EP in the coming months. So stay tuned!
