California-located soul and retro-pop singer-songwriter Klez (AKA John Klezmer) mixes with vintage with modern on his engaging music. His upcoming EP, fittingly titled Old Soul New World, arrives this fall via LA-based label Sound x 3 Records.
The multi-instrumentalist’s latest single, Ain’t Nobody’s Fool, is a jaunty romp that evokes the height of Motown blended with a ‘spectacular now’ interpretation of indie pop. Klez enlisted the aid of Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys) who gives the retro number a bright, polished finish.
Klez has been touring on and off since the release of debut EP, Here Right Now, in 2016. He went on a Scandinavian tour earlier this year and later headlined the Keep Chico Creative festival in that California city. He has continued to perform throughout the summer and is currently on a tour of Europe.
