Psych pop/acid folk duo thanks. goes retro, trippy, and funky on its latest single Your World, dipping into the psych folk, funk, and catchy pop genres. Steve Pagano and Mario Borgatta comprise the act and they merge many styles together to come up with their bright, but laid-back sound.
Pagano and Borgatta both graduated from the renowned Berklee College of Music and they decide to form thanks. They created an album titled Colfax using their stylistic melting pot technique to catch the ear of the public, ensuring that that different people from around the world can relate to the songs in some aspect or another.
The single Your World is both upbeat and casual, luxuriating in shining melodies, vintage synths squiggles, a diving bass line, a Motorik pace, and drawn out vocals that twist into spacey configurations at times.
It turns out that the lyrics provoke thought as well because they deal with the (timely) theme of living in a society where you may not agree with the political agenda. Borgatta reveals, “…though our lyrics aren’t meant to express any opinion towards a specific political idea or belief, we hope to motivate people to take action in what they believe in.”
