Originally from Hoboken, NJ, electronic music producer, songwriter, DJ, and remixer Mike Gazzo (who goes by his last name) is a man of varied musical talent. He’s gained notice for his more mainstream progressive house and dance-pop tunes, but has also covered the electro and drum ‘n’ bass styles.
Gazzo started out in 2011, releasing tracks and remixes online, but he soon graduated to composing original material that was put out by Fedde Le Grand’s Flamingo Recordings and the Dutch label Armada Trice. He’s also dropped official remixes for Ariana Grande and Rudimental.
Gazzo’s breakthrough came with his remix of Y Luv’s Never Touch the Ground and from that point, he released several singles and an EP for the Casablanca record label. This year, his collaborative track with Aja9, Heart Won’t Beat, has been making big waves.
Now Gazzo’s latest single, Waterfall, arrives, making for a cool splash in the indietronic/pop field. Spotlighting a laid-back and uplifting sonic vibe and vocal delivery, Gazzo sings in a light, wistful tone amid gently strummed guitar, sporadic washes of synths, upbeat percussion, and a bouncy drum thump.
Waterfall arrives ahead of Gazzo’s collaboration with American Authors and a new series titled Checking In With Gazzo that explores his life from the perspective of his creative director.
