Massive buzz has built up around electronic pop songstress Billie Eilish, with Vogue crowning her pop’s next It Girl, and Elle, V, and Interview magazines, and even media giant ABC, singing her praises.
Breakthrough track Bellyache put Eilish on the map, but now she’s conquering the whole pop/electronic world with recent single Bored and smoldering new tune Watch. The LA-based artist has racked up over 7.5 million streams on Spotify for Bored alone, and her songs have collectively raked in over 80 million streams to date. Quite an impressive feat for a newcomer in the crowded electro-pop field!
Watch cements Eilish’s rising star status, dropping last Friday via Darkroom/Interscope Records. She blends reflective piano pop with brighter electronics with ease, tying it all together with her softly airy, sometimes curling upwards, vocal tone.
Eilish reveals that Watch, which was produced by her brother Finneas, “…is about letting go of someone toxic and moving on.” A debut EP is in the works, along with an upcoming North American tour. Eilish is definitely a pop phenom to keep an eye on.
