Multi-talented pop/electronic artist Anjulie is a boundary-busting phenom who is not only a platinum-selling, Juno Award-winning, VMA-nominated singer-songwriter/musician, but also a VICE writer and accomplished songwriter for other artists like Diplo, Zedd, and Nicki Minaj.
Anjulie’s latest single, Emotional, showcases her musical chops as she combines her melodic pop sensibilities with dusky trap percussion. Her emotionally vulnerable vocals rise to dramatic heights on the chorus sections while shadowed by deep male harmonies, a setting-sun synths ambience, and gritty electronic accents.
Canadian native Anjulie describes Emotional as a song, “…about finding strength in vulnerability and being OK with letting someone see you crumble.” Anjulie spends much of her time helping to provide strength to others. She’s involved with the Canadian Women’s Foundation, UN Women, and songwriting collective SVNG (Songwriters Under New Government).
Emotional is out via Nettwerk Records and also features an alternate mix by rising house producer Justice Skolnik and an acoustic version of the track with co-production from Devin Hoffman and Eric Scullin.
