SONG REVIEW: BUZZED ABOUT BILLIE EILISH HITS BIG WITH ENGAGING PIANO-POP SINGLE BORED

Fifteen-year old singing sensation Billie Eilish made a huge splash with her recent hit Bellyache and now she’s following it up with the smashing piano and vocals-driven pop single Bored, which is the complete opposite of dull.

The reflective and engaging Bored is one of the songs featured on the soundtrack album for the new Selena Gomez-produced Netflix Original series, 13 Reasons Why.  The soundtrack album is out now via Interscope and is available for download and stream on Apple Music, iTunes, and Spotify.

Bored is a spare, but lovely piano-pop gem that focuses on Eilish’s rich, but sweet vocals as she moves from hushed rumination to airy delicacy.  Eilish reveals that she’s bored by her life and that, “I just want you to set me free.”  Subdued piano notes, a strongly clacking beat, and backing harmonies accentuate Eilish’s emotionally longing vocals as she admits, “When you walk out the door / you leave me torn.”
