The members of Los Angeles-based alternative rock band Love Ghost may be young in years, but they hark back to the gritty and grungy aspects of the alt-rock ‘90s. They include an interesting twist of violin to their rock sound, giving it an added dimension.
Founded a couple of years ago by a then-15-year-old Finn Bell, Love Ghost combines the raw skills and emotions of 5 band members all striving to show the turmoil and reflection behind the front of being a teenager.
The Nirvana-like Chimpanzee is the latest track from the band to swing big. Bell’s pained vocals channel the torment of being a teen while an off-kilter, but swaying rhythm of sawed violin lines, distorted guitar frisson, deep bass line, cymbal shimmer, and thumped drums accompany him on his restless journey.
