Recently we announced the dates for Lush’s forthcoming tour, which you can catch here. For those of you who are late bloomers, Lush – one of the 1990s seminal shoegaze bands – have reunited and reformed. The trio comprised of Miki Berenyi, Emma Anderson and Phil King will now be joined by Justin Welch, formerly of Elastica (useless trivia: and ex-girlfriend of Blur’s Damon Albarn).
Now, after a 20-year hiatus, we receive a gift, slated to arrive in stores April 22, with their forthcoming Blind Spot EP. This is their first new recording since their third full-length studio album, Lovelife.
In support of this new release, Lush present a new lofi youthful innocence video for Out of Control, the first single from the 4-track EP.
Not only do we like the fact that they didn’t splurge on this video, thereby keeping the focus on the music itself, but we LOVE this track, underlining the fact that we have so sorely missed Lush’s radiant music over the past two decades.
In our next installment of this Lush celebration, we shall be introducing you to several bands we think you should hear, who were heavily inspired by this unforgettable brilliant collective.
