The Sweet Five #45
Every week we will be featuring The Sweet Five! What's The Sweet Five you may ask? Well I'll drop you five sweet songs that you should listen to once a week, that will help you get over your mid-week slump and set sail towards the ever-nearing weekend! Ready? Okay!
Laura Marling - Devil's Resting Place
The soft folky sweetness of Laura Marling! This track comes from her brand new album 'Once I Was An Eagle' which was released late in May. She's only 22 but her music already has a great sound and an interesting tune. Her style is quite good! This track is a different but awesome.
Fitz And The Tantrums - Out Of My League
Boy oh boy, Fitz And The Tantrums are definitely back. With their vintage retro disco pop sound with some smashing electronica, this is another awesome track. This is the first song off their brand new album 'More Than Just A Dream' which gives the album high expectations that it delivers emphatically.
Single Mothers - Baby
Take your black jeans, cut some holes in the knees then listen to this solid punk song. Single Mothers are new to me, but they take that edgy sound and smash it.
Monster Truck - My Love Is True
It's not hard to see why people are toting Monster Truck as the next big thing. Generally what comes to mind when you hear Monster Truck is giant trucks smashing in to shit, well their country rock sound is smashing shit too. When you first hear the vocals in this song, you don't expect them to sound like they do. Delivering so much in this one.
Ivan And Alyosha - Running For Cover
Now lets slow it down a bit..Ivan And Alyosha bring a sweet slow romance to this week's Sweet Five. A soothing sound that takes you away on a holiday. Such a soulful and mystic song.
