The Sweet Five #40 (The Girlfriend Edition)
This week is a little different. The other night I was lying in bed when it came to me. What's the way to be ultimately lazy? I could get my girlfriend to write The Sweet Five for this week! Not entirely true, but yes this week is written by my lovely girlfriend Alexis. Follow her on Twitter @CrockettAJ and tell her about the job she did!
Lana Del Rey - National Anthem
I had heard of Lana Del Ray but never thought she would be my cup of tea. I was so wrong. I get so into the chorus of this song, and the whole album is best played loud and alone, because I certainly cannot match that voice.
Dave Matthews Band - In My Life (The Beatles Cover)
When I first heard this song I didn’t know how I had gone so long without it. Matthews voice brings a bit of difference to the original. It makes me think about all the places I have been. I just like it.
Newton Faulkner - Clouds
I feel like this song has an old soul, like I have known it forever. It also really makes me want to dance and pretend I’m graceful. It’s a perfect pick up song.
Incubus - Oil And Water
I used to listen to this song in the morning to get myself to work, its filled with a sort of hope and acceptance. It is a definite highlight off of Light Grenades, which is a fantastic album.
Ophelia Of The Spirits - House Of Cards
The haunting intro to this song really pulls me back to a place and time. Angela Little has an amazing voice and I've been dying to get my hands on some more of her stuff.
