Today not only marks the year anniversary of The Record Stache, it also happens to be the late, great J Dilla's birthday. He would have been 39 today. The upcoming February 10th marks another big day, when Dilla passed away in 2006 from a rare blood disease.

There's an argument given by some Dilla fans that believe his work shouldn't be messed with, or remixed, or resampled. I understand that these fans want to respect Jay Dee's legacy, but when you think about it, that's exactly how the man made his own music. His art was reworking what was previously created. What better way to pay homage than by re-imagining his music?

Wrathmatics honors the J Dilla's memory the best way he knows how: making music. Flipping the "The Official" and U-Luv" samples, adding some Frank-n-Dank vocals, and "the Official U-Love Tribute" is created. It's a celebration of Dilla's life using the sounds he provided us with.
