A year ago, I set out to start a music blog. If you've checked out the ABOUT page at any time over the past twelve months, you've surely read the tale of how I was inspired to start The Record Stache over a bowl of Apple Jacks. Well, I hope you're sitting down. It's all a lie. I mainly started the blog as a spot for my résumé, because every single job interview I went to after earning my degree asked if I had one since it shows off writing abilities and keeping up with extended projects. So I had a couple of friends code a simple site, and somewhere along the way, it kind of just took off when people started to notice the site and respected my taste in music.

When I started blogging, I would have never expected to be talking to people from around the world on a daily basis. I've learned more about other nationalities and cultures in the past twelve months than I ever did in all of my years in schooling. For the first time, it wasn't a textbook or a teacher telling me about countries and the people that live in them, it was new friends who from places like the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, Spain, Argentina, and even other states here in the US sharing their thoughts and stories. For me, sharing music has made the world a much smaller place, and it continues to shrink the more I meet new people through The Record Stache.

To celebrate The Record Stache's first anniversary, I wanted to make some sort of "thank you" mix. The big question was, what kind of mix to make. After entertaining the thoughts of a '90s Dance Party or a mix of my favorite guilty pleasure songs, I ended up making the classic, cheesy "I Love You" mixtape. Featuring some well known light favorites, this mix of beloved classics will surely make your heart flutter. If you haven't started listening to the mix above yet, please do so. Oh, and just a heads up, things are about to get real sappy.

Thanks so much for all of your support. Big plans are in the works for 2013. Stay tuned and please keep up with us on Facebook and Twitter.
