Paris 96 – Afternoon

When Jesse Boykins III didn’t appear on Theophilus London’s debut album Timez Are Weird These Days, I was a little worried that the two had a falling out or something. I mean, it’s kind of odd that the two did so much work together on Theophilus’ mixtapes, and when it was time for an album to release the seductive vocals of Jesse Boykins III were nowhere to be heard. Obsessing over collab tracks like “Ooohs and Aahhs”, “Humdrum Town”, “Cold Pillow” and “Connected”, I always that the two artists would work magic as an official duo. Today, my wish came true.

Under the name Paris 96, the super duo has released their first single, “Afternoon”. This thing cannot be describe as anything less than sexy. Somewhere between the enchanting production, Jesse’s swooning on the chorus, and Theophilus rapping in choice French, you’re going to get turned on. It’s guaranteed. Paris 96 has an EP in the works expected for an April release.
