First and foremost, thank you all for following, reading, and listening along with us here at The Record Stache for our first year. It means so much that you take the time to read our ramblings and give these artists we talk about a chance to be heard to a wider audience. Without you guys, this would just be a few folks goofing around. Once again, thank you all so so much!
Now to the meat and potaters! I knew I was in for something good just by looking at that artwork. Look how cool that is! It’s so cool that… you know what? YUP, just did it. Set that bad boy as my desktop background.
If you think that art is cool, then you will totally dig the track behind it. “Goshen” is a smooth song that starts of very calming and hypnotic, then it steadily begins to build. One of my favorite things for an artist to do is to start very soft and smooth, and then come at me with those sweet shuffling drums. Illitry does it perfectly. After those sweet drums, things get soft and smooth again with some background “oooohs”. Before you know it, the song transforms into an awesomely epic ending when the whole sound comes together.
I really think that Illitry perfectly sets the mood of “Goshen” by describing their sound as, “The electro-organic sound of the snow covered road.”
