My support for Knocking Ghost continues with their latest single, “Distractions”. With the past releases, I’ve compared the London band to ’80s acts like Depeche Mode, The Psychedelic Furs, and Naked Eyes. With the new release, it’s time to stop making comparisons and state that Knocking Ghost sounds like Knocking Ghost.
The band’s influences are firmly planted in the ’80s new wave and synth pop genres. In each release, Knocking Ghost embraces the style of dance-able instrumentals with a razor sharp edge. However, to label the band as just a gimmicky homage act of ’80s music would be insulting. Their sound is just as modern, as it is retro.
The release of the latest single also marks the official release of Knocking Ghost’s Distractions EP. I’ve previously featured every track of the project, so check them out here and here. Also, download it for free here.
