The Sweet Five #17

Every week we will be featuring The Sweet Five! What’s The Sweet Five you may ask? Well I’ll drop you five sweet songs that you should listen to once a week, that will help you get over your mid-week slump and set sail towards the ever-nearing weekend! Ready? Okay!

Admiral Fallow – Squeeling Pigs

This is one of those tracks that give you that foot tappin’ ho down indie tracks you tell yourself you don’t really like but end up falling for. The video below is also basic but it’s all about the music for these guys.

General Fiaso – Ever So Shy

I play this song to get my weekend started and the beers flowing! Upbeat in tempo and a great song to pump yourself up. I always turn the volume up on this one. I can’t contain myself and I just gotta scream the lyrics.

Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals – Not Fire, Not Ice

Recently purchased the reminisce album of ‘By My Side’ and happy to say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Ben Harper has always a soft spot with me, and this touches me even deeper. I think of my girlfriend when I hear this song, the lyrics are gorgeous.

Chromeo – Fancy Footwork

Two step, two step, two step…. One of the coolest wee dance tracks out there, not big on the genre myself, but I find myself busting out such hip dance moves as The Sprinkler, The Lonely Janitor and ‘Oh God, help me I’ve put my back out’

Lights Action featuring Dallas Green – Bottom Of The Sea

Now the term ‘ballad’ is never thrown around willy nilly – but I feel this one is indeed a ballad. A song that you can feel, a song with heavy emotions. Simply incredible. Breathtaking.
