The Sweet Five #16

Every week we will be featuring The Sweet Five! What’s The Sweet Five you may ask? Well I’ll drop you five sweet songs that you should listen to once a week, that will help you get over your mid-week slump and set sail towards the ever-nearing weekend! Ready? Okay!

The Dirty Heads – Driftin’

I have had his track stored away in the depth of my music collection for a few years now – and it’s a neglected track that I should love a lot more. A cruisy, smoke up, windows down kinda tune with a catchy riff. This is the ultimate boys song, on a roadtrip. A sing along for everyone!

DL Incognito – Grand Scale

A Moment Captured In Time I believe is one of the biggest under-rated hip hop albums to be released. DL Incognito has skilled flows and sick rhymes. A realist. This is an honest track, just like the rest off this album. Give him some ear time.

Set Your Goals – Cure For Apathy

It’s time to get up off your chairs and go hard to this one. A Californian rock band with that definite Cali sound. This is the opening track off their latest drop in 2011 Burning At Both Ends. Dig it.

Fanfarlo – Fire Escape

I patiently anticipated their first album Reservoir to release back in 2010 and was definitely not disappointed. “Fire Escape” is one of those songs that can change your life. Well, that might be a bit over the top – but this melodramatic track has a wonderful sense of sweet. If you haven’t, check out the video for this.

Sparta – Atlas

Yes, this is Sparta! But not like the film where this word hit pop-culture with a kick. Sparta released this track six years ago but I still quite like it. A slow, unwinding intro to this one – but once you’re thick and into it you will be hooked. The chorus is oh so catchy. The lyrics are very well done.
