Here's the story. Low Tide Theory followed the blog on Facebook and I thought that their music was top notch. So now I'm writing up a little feature on the band's album, Big Sky. I wish I could include the entire LP for you to stream, because it's a must listen for any synth pop fan. Pulling inspiration from some of the top bands of the '80s that made the genre great, Low Tide Theory manages to put the best retro trademarks together. The outcome is a combination of sounds that truly makes Big Sky a unique album. Sure, it's all so familiar of what you've heard before, but it's also so original and unique. I've been pretty excited for JSWISS' album, Awthenticity. With the official release coming up in just a couple of days, I almost held off on posting this and just waiting to feature the whole project. Once the U'nique Music produced instrumental rolls in, I couldn't resist sharing "Awthentic" with you all. With a line-up consisting of Tab-One (of Kooley High), Devine Carama, and K-Hill joining JSWISS on this track, you're in for some extremely nice verses. If for whatever reason you weren't looking forward to Awthenticity, this should sway your opinion. Look out for the album this Tuesday (the 14th). We'll have to wait until September 2nd to get our hands on Fenech-Soler's sophomore album, Rituals. Luckily the band has steadily been releasing new music lately. "Magnetic" is the latest, and first official single off of the album. The visuals are a pretty wild trip. It's definitely not a boring watch. That's for sure. People wearing creepy animal masks have really become a common thing in music videos over the last few years, haven't they? "Magnetic" will officially release July 1st. Until then, keep on watching the video and/or stream it below.

Considering that Ummagma won the Alternative Eurovision held yesterday on Britain’s Amazing Radio, we decided to introduce this haunting chillout piece of ambient, instrumental dreampop, with an equally trippy video to go along with that. This eclectic duo has churned out videos for nearly half of the songs featured in their double debut LP release from last July. This latest clip is for their song “Talk to Her”, produced by French avant-garde filmmaker and multi-media artist Bulle Plexiglass, whose other work you can find here and other videos you can find here.

Each week, an Ecuador based DJ who goes by the name Agte. Mulder puts together a podcast on Spreaker compiled of select shoegaze, dream pop, and drone sorts of music. Since I'm not too familiar with those genres myself, I asked Agte. Mulder if I could post his podcast here on The Record Stache. Thankfully, he agreed. The result is the Lazer Guided Melodies podcast series, titled as an homage to the band Spiritualized's 1992 album of the same name.

If you speak Spanish, you're in luck! Agte. Mulder records his podcasts entirely in Spanish, but if you're unfamiliar with the language, don't let that discourage you from listening and enjoying the music. The songs are still English. So press play, lie back, stare at the ceiling and soak up the sounds. If you don't have the time to listen now, feel free to download and listen at your leisure.

Lane 8 works some magic again. Making use of more Snowden stems, they're put to use in this new track titled, "Sleepless". Along with some samples pulled from Tracy Chapman and Depeche Mode, this song makes for quite the eclectic mash-up. I'm in a bit of a rush, so I don't have time to get into too much detail. "Sleepless" has got that signature Lane 8 sound that you've come to expect by now, and it still manages to show the producer trying new things. Also, it's free to download. Take advantage of that.

Last week, Bravestation premiered a new single titled, "All We Have Is Us". A second release for this week was promised, and here we are with "Somewhere We Belong". I love this new direction that Bravestation is taking with their sound. They have the tribal pop thing down to perfection, and the addition of R&B influences and sexy synths just seems like a natural progression. This time next week, we'll all be enjoying the rest of Bravestation's IV EP.
